Update!!!! Favre changed his mind again, and Chili’s daydream ultimately came true for better or for worse.

Tennessee Titans Tickets Mean Terrific Football

When you have Tennessee Titans tickets, you can be sure of a football game that has the important Big Ts in it- toughness and terrific football. The Titans are a team that have seen the worst and have not let it bring their game down. Despite numerous relocations and disappointments, the Titans have always played great football.

The Tennessee Titans are a National Football League team that is also affiliated with the American Football Conference and the AFC South. They play their home games at LP Field and have eight Division titles and one Conference championship to their name. They have yet to win a Super Bowl title.

From Oilers To Titans

The Titans were founded in 1960 as the Houston Oilers. The Oilers did well in the AFL and were able to distinguish themselves with back to back AFL championship wins in 1960 and 1961. However, as was the fate with many AFL teams, the merger with the NFL in 1970 did not treat them kindly. It wouldn’t be until 1974 that the team would be able to bring their game up to speed after adding a number of good players to their roster.

The eighties, however. seemed to pull the team down yet again and it wouldn’t be until the nineties that the team would get its groove back. They seemed to be on the winning track after getting a Division title win in 1991. But all was not well off the field. The management was not impressed with the way the Titans were doing and in 1993, the team was threatened with dissolution if they did not make the Super Bowl. The Oilers just weren’t able to deliver and as promised, the team’s best player was traded off. By 1996, the team was at its lowest. Game attendance was so low that one could actually hear conversations on the field from the stands. In 1997, the team was moved to Tennessee.

A New Beginning

In 1999, the team began a new era under the name Tennessee Titans and in a show of support football fans bought a number of Tennessee Titans tickets. The Titans did not disappoint and played some of their best football ever, finishing their first season with a fabulous 13-3 record. Many dubbed this season as the Cinderella Season for the Titans and Tennessee Titans ticket sales were going through the roof. The Titans found themselves in two famous NFL moments known as The Tackle and the Music City Miracle. The Titans would also finally make the Super Bowl playoffs.

Just when their game was improving, the Titans were hit with a large spate of player injuries in 2004. The following year, the Titans would field the youngest team in the NFL and the Titans’ game and overall performance improved greatly. Today, they are very strong contenders for the Super Bowl and the large jump in Tennessee Titans tickets is proof that you will not be able to hear conversations on the field anymore. For football lovers everywhere, tickets to see the Titans play are tickets to see great football, plain and simple. You can buy your Tennessee Titans tickets online from an authorized ticket vendor.

Heavenly Football With New Orleans Saints Tickets

For a football fan with New Orleans Saints tickets, it’s a game guaranteed to be well fought and played hard. If the Saints are known for one thing, it’s for putting up a spirited fight on the field. Even though they haven’t been able to clinch many big wins, they have already made a name for themselves as a formidable fighting team and have emerged as a powerful contender on the field today.

The New Orleans Saints play their home games from the Louisiana Superdome and are part of the National Football League. They are also affiliated to the NFC South and the National Football Conference. So far, the Saints have three Division titles to their name.

Saints And The Aints

When the New Orleans Saints first hit the field in 1967, they dazzled audiences with a 94 yard opening kickoff return that resulted in a touchdown. A number of New Orleans Saints tickets had been sold for that game and it appeared that the Saints were going to be a strong team to meet on the field. Unfortunately the team lost and settled into a routine that would become habit for the Saints for a very long time. Despite having occasional glimpses of great football, the team would still end up losing, while making a big win seemed completely out of question.

But New Orleans Saints tickets were still selling big and that was because the fans really believed in the potential of the team. In an effort to shake of the Saints a bit, a local radio personality urged Saints fans to wear paper bags on their heads at the home games. Some fans even wrote Aints on the bags and a tradition began that spread to other poor teams in the NFL and gradually other sports in the country.

Our Time Has Come

Something needed to be done, especially when people were buying New Orleans Saints tickets simply to wear paper bags on their heads. The team was shaken up a number of times but the Saints simply could not find their groove. In 2000, Jim Haslett took over the reigns and was able to bring the Saints to the playoffs. This was a huge accomplishment and many in the football world were stunned at the improvement in the team.

After Katrina hit, the Saints were caught in the middle of a controversy regarding relocation of the team. Despite not having a home stadium and dealing with the effects of the hurricane, the team managed to stay focused. In 2006, the team played very well and they were able to score a franchise first by selling out every season ticket in the Superdome. In September that year, they beat the Falcons in a game that has been called one of the best games of the sport. The Falcons were beaten 23-3 and there was sell-out attendance. The Saints again announced sell out season tickets for 2007 which just shows how many football lovers are buying New Orleans Saints tickets.

Today, the New Orleans Saints are definitely a team to watch and many forecast a big win for them in the future. Be there when it happens by getting your New Orleans Saints tickets online from an authorized dealer.

2009 Washington Redskins Fantasy Preview

The 2008 Washington Redskins finished a disappointing 8-8 failing to qualify for the postseason.  Following an off season where the team bolstered the defense with the signing of DT Albert Haynesworth and also saw the flirtation with Mark Sanchez and Jay Cutler the Redskins head into 2009. What will the Skins offer fantasy owners for the upcoming season?  Let’s examine this now.

The bottom line is that the Redskins brass does not believe that QB Jason Campbell is the answer.  If they did they would not have lobbied to trade up in this years draft to get Sanchez nor would they have been a serious player in the Cutler sweepstakes.  The feeling around the NFL is that Campbell is a steady but not spectacular signal caller and I for the most part agree with that sentiment. Campbell manages the game well and possesses decent leadership skills but I just don’t see him leading Washington much less a fantasy team to the promise land. Campbell passed for 3245 yards with just 13 TD’s and 6 Int’s and had a QB rating of 84.3.  My friends those are not the numbers you are looking for out of your starting QB and quite frankly both myself and many members of the “Hog Nation” believe the teams future lies with 2nd year man Colt Brennen out of Hawaii.  Campbell is nothing more than a number 2 fantasy option come draft day and if he struggles early don’t be surprised to see Head Coach Jim Zorn make the switch to Brennen because Zorn is already on the hotseat as you know owner Daniel Snyder is interested in one Bill Cowher.

I recently looked at RB Clinton Portis’s stats and realized what a phenomenal career this man has had.  Portis has rushed for more than 1200 yards in 6 out of his 7 seasons in the league and over 1400 yds 4 times.  Portis finished the ‘08 campaign with 1487 yards and 9 TD’s.  Although Portis is only 27 he has over 2000 NFL carries and it is only a matter of time before his body starts wearing down and we may have seen the beginning of that last year as during the last 7 contests he rushed for 100 yards only once after dominating the league for the first half of the season due to various injuries that combined to de-rail the superstar.  Is this the year we see a big drop-off from the former University of Miami product?  Time will tell.  Is Portis still a number 1 fantasy RB?  Probably, but I feel much more comfortable with drafting Portis in the middle to late second round as a high end number 2 back.  If you draft Portis in at all try to handcuff him with LaDell Betts who has shown throughout the years of being a more than capable fill in.  No other Redskin RB warrants a draft selection at this time.

Washington’s receiving corps is average at best and that may be one of the main reasons why Campbell hasn’t quite developed to the extent that the Skins were hoping for. Santana Moss is again the number 1 option for the team but lets face facts folks, Moss is nowhere near a quality number one NFL wideout and at best a number 3 or flex fantasy option.  The inconsistent Moss finished the ‘08 season with 79 catches for 1044 yds and 6 TD’s and don’t look for anything different out of him this year as inconsistency has pretty much defined his career.  Again, come draft day your roster if you drafted smart and efficiently should have enough quality talent so that Moss shouldn’t be starting.  If he is anything more than a number 3 or flex option you have neglected your receiving corps in a big way.  After Moss the Redskins literally have nobody.  Someone out of the following group will need to step up in training camp and the pre season to claim the starting receiver position opposite Moss: Antwann Randall El, Roydell Williams, Jaison Williams, Devin Thomas, Trent Shelton,  Marko Mitchell, and Marquis Hagans.  Outside of Randall El, who the hell are these guys??  Seriously, you mean to tell me that Snyder who runs his team as if it is a fantasy squad can’t come up with anything better than this?? You have to be kidding me.  Needless to say none of these guys warrant a selection come August.

Chris Cooley is an above average NFL TE and a decent fantasy TE although he is coming off a year in which he accounted for only 1 TD.  I saw an interview with Cooley (who is a big fantasy football guy by the way) and he promises to deliver more scores this year and quite frankly I agree with him.  He’s an excellent receiver and the Skins and Campbell will no doubt try to get him the ball more in the Red Zone this year.  If you miss on the likes of Gates, Witten, Clark, and Gonzo think about taking Cooley.  He will surely improve on his one TD from a year ago.

Washington’s DST could be tough this year.  The unit was decent last year and now welcomes both Haynesworth and rookie LB Brian Orakpo from Texas into the fold.  There is no doubt Haynesworth’s presence will automatically make it much more difficult to run on Washington this year from 2008.  Furthermore, Orakpo provides the Skins the pass rusher that they were hoping to get last year from Jason Taylor.  Washington could very well surprise some people from the defensive side of the ball and if you miss on some of the sexier defenses consider the Skins with a very late pick and hope their upside comes to fruition.

Well that is it for Washington’s fantasy prospects heading into 2009.  Next up: The NY Football Giants

Baltimore Ravens Coach’S Promotion

The National Football League team Baltimore Ravens has promoted Greg Mattison to the defensive coordinator. This is a move that is designed to maintain continuity on the section that excelled under Rex Ryan.

Mattison was hired by the Baltimore’s as a linebackers coach last February. Having only one year of experience in the NFL, the 59 year old Mattison was the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame, Florida and Michigan.

The Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh praised Mattison saying that Greg is a person that he has full trust and belief in not only for his track record. I have full trust and belief in, and not just because of his track record, but also the good job he did as the linebackers. Harbaugh added that Greg has established himself as among the best coaches in the NFL and that the players can attest to that thought.

Greg Mattison will be replacing Rex Ryan, who had served as the Ravens defensive coordinator for four seasons before leaving to take over as head coach of the New York Jets.

Mattison will take over the high standard defense that earned them the rank of the second best defense in the NFL; it also helped the Ravens to advance to the AFC championship, with the help of outstanding linebackers like Bart Scott, Terrell Suggs and Ray Lewis.

Head coach Harbaugh praised the former defensive coach Rex, saying that he did a good job and that he brought out the most out of his players. He added that he has belief that Greg has the same qualities as a coach and he believes that he will compliment the departed Rex. Mattison says that he intends to employ the same tactics (pressure packed defense) that Rex had applied as it was so successful.

On his acceptance speech, Mattison said that he strongly believes that for a defense to be successful they should be aggressive and also to be an attacking defense.

Harbaugh had considered going outside the team to look for Rex’s replacement but he later resorted to inside men who had worked under Rex like Mattison, Vic Fangio, Clarence Brooks and Chuck Pagano, finally settling for Mattison.

In further promotions; Fangio was promoted to be the linebackers coach, and the special team’s coordinator Jerry Rosburg was promoted to the post of the assistant head coach.

Greg Mattison’s coaching career started in 1971 at the high school level, this is before he served as the assistant at Cornell, Northwestern and Illinois. Harbaugh and Mattison met as the now head coach was serving a six-year contract at Western Michigan from 1981 to 1986.

Mattison then was in the Navy for two years, this was later followed by stays at Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Michigan and Florida.

All the Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinators have gone ahead to become head coaches for instance Mike Nolan, Marvin Lewis and Rex Ryan, this has been so since the Ravens came from Cleveland to Baltimore before the season of 1996.

New York Giants Are Consistent Performers in the NFL

The day New York was introduced to football was the same day when the New York Giants were introduced, then called the New York Football Giants. This was done in the second half of the year 1925 when the team first played against the Frankford Yellow Jackets. Fortunately, the team stood long enough to reach the time when professional football was established.

The first owner of the team was Tim Mara who bought the Giants for $500. The team struggled financially during the first decade of its establishment but won their first title on their third season. However, the depression of the 30’s affected the way Mara handled the team so he gave the control to his two sons aged 22 and 14 at that time. Wellington Mara was the youngest owner of a football team and from then on, he contributed a lot to the team’s history.

World War II was hard for football owners, players, and fans alike. A lot of the able-bodied players were off to war and those who remained were players past their prime. This was the time when a lot of teams folded up, luckily the Giants were able to survive and continued on to win three NFL championship games. The 1950’s marked the time when the Giants played so well that football was becoming equal with other spectator sports. The team also produced some of the best players of all time during this period.

Just like any other team, the New York Giants experienced a period of mediocrity during the 1960’s. Injuries and retirements cost the Giants some of their most important games. The 1970’s was a period of transition for the team as they played their home games in four different stadiums and in three different states. They weren’t even able to play in a post season game. This was the era when strong teams gave way to newer and stronger teams like Dallas, Minnesota, and Pittsburgh.

By the middle of the 80’s, the Giants regained their composure and went on to their first Super Bowl appearance and their first world championship since the 50’s. The 90’s was another period of change though the Giants were still on top of the NFL. Coaching staff, players, and even ownership was changed during this time.

Ever since then, the Giants still managed to become consistent with how they play their games despite numerous changes in the head coach position. The year 2000 was when the Giants failed to win in a Super Bowl competition because they lost to the Baltimore Ravens. It was in 2004 when they hired the present head coach, Tom Coughlin, and from then on, played at the top of their field.

Presently, the Giants are performing outstandingly which goes to show that they are serious about living up to their name whenever they are out in the field. And they are not going to give way to any other team to show their fans that they will not regret giving them their support. The Giants are in a pretty good position to get more championship games under their belt with how they have conditioned their minds on winning each time they play.

Philadelphia Eagles Tickets – Assistant Coaches Added

The Philadelphia Eagles are doing what most teams are doing during the early offseason: making sure all of their assistant coaching positions are filled and strong. One of the new coaches, Doug Pederson, has a history with the Eagles as he was also their quarterback during his playing days. Pederson will be taking the role as the Eagles offensive quality coach. Along with Pederson, Rory Segrest was named defensive line coach, Ted Daisher was made special teams coordinator and James Urban was give the position of quarterbacks coach. Fans can be there to see the new lineup of coaches with Philadelphia Eagles tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/philadelphia-eagles-tickets/.

Pederson spent his playing years both in the NFL and in the World League of America Football. He started his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins in 1992, where he stayed until 1995. That same year, he was added to the roster of the Green Bay Packers. He spent the 1999 season with the Eagles. That season, he played in all 16 games and started nine, tallying 1,276 yards and seven touchdowns. After spending a season with the Cleveland Browns in 2000, he finished out his NFL career with the Packers. The position with the Eagles marks his first coaching position in the NFL.

Rory Segrest played offensive tackle at Alabama before starting his coaching career as a student assistant at his alma mater in 1994. He moved to graduate assistant in 1996 and then took that same position with Auburn for two seasons. In 1999, he started at Southeast Missouri State, staying until 2001. He coached at Samford in many capacities from 2002 to 2005. In 2006, he started his career with the Eagles as their special teams quality control coach. During the 2007 and 2008 seasons, he was the Eagles special teams coordinator.

Ted Daisher joins the Eagles after spending time both with the Oakland Raiders and the Cleveland Browns, where he was also the special teams coordinator. James Urban is no stranger to the Eagles way of doing things either. He was a wide receiver and kick returner in college, playing for Washington and Lee University. After graduation, he earned his master’s degree in communication from Clarion University. While earning his degree, he served as the team’s graduate assistant and he worked with wide receivers and tight ends. Upon graduation, he became the director of football administration at Pennsylvania under Al Bagnoli. He became the director of football operation in 2000, a position he stayed in until 2003. He started his career with the Eagles in 2004 when he became their assistant head coach. In 2007, he was moved to offensive assistant and quality control coach.

In 2008, the Eagles had an interesting season that started with wins over the St. Louis Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers, but also included losses to the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears. A low point in the season was their 13-13 tie with the downtrodden Cincinnati Bengals during week 11, for which quarterback Donovan McNabb took heat. The Eagles rallied to finish 9-6-1 and made the post season. They topped the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants in the playoffs before losing to the Arizona Cardinals.
